Is Curb Appeal Important?

by Kandace Conn, Team Leader/Transaction Manager

Underestimating curb appeal can be a big mistake for many homeowners. In this post, we will go through a few Do's and Don'ts.

  • Windows and Trim - Clean all windows, inside and out and replace all broken glass, if any. If any paint seems to be peeling, scrape and repaint.
  • Gutters - Repair and clean all gutters.
  • Roof/Chimney - Make sure that all shingles are intact and none are missing.
  • Wash Your House - Quick and simple wash could increase curb appeal immensely.
  • Landscaping - For free you can remove weeks and overgrown plants, trim tree branches and prune shrubs.

  • Extreme Paint Colors - Always choose neutral colors.
  • Driveway Clutter - If there is a garage and there are cars parked in the driveway, buyers may think that there is not enough space to store everything. It can also cause for distraction in online photos.
  • Personal Possessions - Lawn ornaments, kids toys scattered in the yard could become a distraction.
  • Dead Gardens - We all know garden do not look the greatest out of season, but you can always make sure that it is free of dead leaves and plants.

Buying or Selling: Now Is The Time!

by Kandace Conn, Team Leader/Transaction Manager

With the winter months around the corner, most will expect the real estate market to slow down. However, there are many motives as to why both buyers and sellers should dive into the market now rather than wait until the spring.

There will be two major details that will factor into the cost increase of purchasing a home next spring: homes prices and mortgage rates.

One simple concept. Supply and Demand. When the inventory is low, sellers will get the best price because the demand is high and due to the above, demand will remain strong throughout this winter.

According to a recent survey done by, people consider that cash and real estate are the two top ways to invest money that is not needed for more than 10 years. This statement proves that owning a home is a great way to build health.
